We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Drafter / Designer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning concepts into technical drawings and 3D models while collaborating with engineers, designers, and project managers on creative, large-scale projects.

The successful candidate will assist in the development of 3D models and fabrication drawings while gaining hands-on experience throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and modify 3D models using industry-standard modeling software.
• Produce detailed fabrication and assembly drawings from design concepts.
• Develop accurate shop drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
• Revise drawings and models based on engineering and project team feedback.
• Support project coordination by maintaining organized drawing files and revisions.
• Participate in occasional fabrication shop inspections to verify drawing accuracy and design intent.
• Gain hands-on field experience by visiting project sites to understand real-world applications of designs and gather field measurements to support accurate modeling and drawing development.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, fabricators, and other designers as part of a team.
• Assist in solving design and production challenges during project development.
• Follow drafting standards, company procedures, and quality control practices.

Qualifications:

•  Associate degree, technical certification, or coursework in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, or Related Discipline.
• Basic experience with 3D modeling and drafting software (such as SolidWorks, Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced creative environment.
• Mechanical aptitude or fabrication knowledge is a plus.

We are seeking an entry-level Structural Drafter to support our engineering team by preparing detailed drawings and plans for structural projects. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals starting their careers in drafting and design who are eager to develop technical skills in a professional environment.

PAY RATE – $25/HOUR

HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE – 3 DAYS IN OFFICE (CANONSBURG) & 2 DAYS AT HOME

Global engineering company looking for AutoCAD drafting candidates with 0-2 years of work-related experience.  All versions of AutoCAD are acceptable.  AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, Revit, and Microstation can be utilized also.  Bluebeam training/usage is a plus but not required.  Will work on electrical drawings utilizing AutoCAD doing layouts, schematics, and wiring.  No previous electrical CAD work experience is required but preferred.  Candidates must at least possess the understanding and usage of the software mentioned.  Diploma or CAD training certificate is preferred.  Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology is preferred.

This position will require frequent movement, including trips around the facility for site surveys to include traversing stairs and ladders.

Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.  Local candidates preferred, as there is no per diem or relocation available

Responsibilities

• Performs tasks with competency and extensive knowledge of standard techniques, procedures and design criteria.
• Support the discipline engineering lead in maintaining Budget, Schedule and adherence to the project scope of work.
• Coordinates and facilitates with structural Section Lead for staff assignment, change management, and discipline technical support.
• Attend project and client meetings, assign specific design tasks to Houston and Workshare Structural design team members, monitor production levels, perform checking / technical audits, and support project reporting requirements.
• Review and apply project standards and documents to assure they are compatible and aligned with the overall project objectives.  Bring discrepancies to the attention of the Design Coordinator for resolution.
• Work closely with peer project design staff as well as engineering staff to assure the integrity of project deliverables and documents are maintained, accurate, and consistent
• Participate in all available technical training while continuously improving technical skill sets.
• Provide guidance and support to Structural Designers

Qualifications

• 2-year Associates degree – Associates of Applied Science, Engineering Design or equal training / experience
• 5+ years industry experience
• Ability to climb and descend stairs and ladders as the job requires, as well as frequent walking around the facility.
• Working knowledge of applicable codes and regulations
• Strong working knowledge of industry standard design tools, 2D CAD (Autocad & MicroStation), Database applications (SmartPlant Instrumentation & Aveva) & 3D modeling tools (E3D, S3D & Cadworks)
• Complete understanding of required scheduling, productivity reporting and work process for deliverable production
• Complete knowledge of department design and drafting standards and procedures

• Performs and completes drawing packages with guided assistance with a focus on adherence to CAD standards and data management procedures with an emphasis to the oil and gas market sector.
• Completes design tasks associated with production drawings with minimal assistance
• Update and alter drawings as requested
• Create preliminary site layout plans and preliminary concept plans
• Incorporate rough draft sketches, drawings, redlines, etc. into the plans sets as provided
• Creates design layouts of utility facilities including plans, details, cross sections, then provides a final deliverable plan set with detailed guidance from Engineers, Project Managers and experienced CAD Staff
• Perform QA/QC on all work

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• Entry level-no previous professional CAD experience is required
